Choose Your Path Wisely
I found it fitting that I struggled to choose a title for this blog post. Here are a few that I considered. Does your journey choose you, or do you choose your journey? Reaching your destination begins with choosing your path. Choose the Narrow Gate. Champions don’t see Storms. I honestly could go on and on about the struggle I had to choose the title and picture to use for this blog post. Why? Because this blog post may be the most important decision of your life.
I love the African Proverb that goes something like this.
I woke a sleeping man whom I came upon while on my journey and he passed me on my way.
The SLC3 Movement is all about waking up coaches that are sleeping on their journey. I have experienced the exhilarating thrill of seeing coaches, whom have woken up to the miracle working power of the Spirit of God, pass me on my path as they became passionate in their quest to seek and bring glory to our King.
One of those coaches recently sent me a video encouraging me. He sent me the following powerful message. It focuses on how to successfully make it through a storm that you encounter while on your journey! I encourage you to listen by Clicking Here!
Love Pastor Franklin’s quotes, “Losers focus on what they are going through. Champions focus on what they are going to!” Even Jesus was able to focus on the finish line when on the cross to become our Champion! Hebrews 12:2
I have worked hard to discipline myself to read, listen to a YouTube message, listen to a podcast, listen to uplifting worship, or quietly get alone with Jesus in the early mornings and late evenings. In this crazy busy world of coaching, I strongly encourage you to find your alone time with God. Find a place you can learn listen and learn to hear the quiet whisper of the Holy Spirit.
I think of the Holy Spirit like a dove. First you have to find the dove by seeking with all your heart, then you must be quiet and not cause the bird to fly away. The ability to get the dove to rest on you is possibly the most powerful skill known to man! The peace and power that follows that encounter will forever change your life. You will taste something that finally fills the emptiness that nothing in this world can fill.
I encourage you with all that is within me to wake up and try this path. There is nothing more I desire than to see you pass me on this journey! The Bible talks numerous times about this path. Jeremiah 6:16 talks about “where the good way is”.
Matthew 7:13-14 discusses it clearly. “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
