Dabo Swinney has no reservations about sharing his faith. Success begins with Leadership. No better picture of that today than Coach Swinney. Go back to Coach John Wooden, who many young athletes do not even know these days, but Coach Wooden’s faith was an intrical part of UCLA’s unmatched level of success. The undefeated 1954 UCLA team with over half of their starting lineup involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, was nicknamed the “Eleven from Heaven.” There is a good chance that not all the players on that team were believers in Christ, but their leader was and so is Coach Swinney. Check out the link below with him sharing about his faith and the link about NFL star Deandre Hopkins being baptized at practice! Guess who’s back in the NCAA Football playoffs! I also added added a recent link of Tennessee Basketball Players being baptized recently. Last season after my post player Josh Wilchcombe gave his testimony to our FCA Huddle of over a 150 students, over 40 athletes committed their lives to Christ. Soon after our FCA staff felt God was leading us to ask how many of the new converts wanted to publicly demonstrate their commitment to Christ through water baptism. A week later over 40 students were baptized in the lake on our campus. It was what many of our older professors claimed was the highlight of their time at OKWU. It was an amazing and powerful day!
