We All Struggle
How many times have you envied Tom Brady and Michael Jordan? I’m definitely guilty. 13 Championships between them, Brady with 7 and Jordan with 6.
MJ would have likely won more titles if he would have not stepped away from the game after his father was tragically murdered. I find it sad that both of these impressive men are divorced from their first loves. They both have money to burn and all the fame the world has to offer yet Brady reportedly lost 15 pounds this NFL season while dealing with another divorce, this time from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
Two of the most gifted and mentally toughest athletes to ever play a game are perfect examples of why we should not be surprised by the enemy when he takes us to our knees.
Both of these men have a competitive greatness that is legendary. Some say Jordan’s desire to win led to him to struggle with high stakes gambling. His Hall of Fame speech has been called by some the saddest speech of All-Time. This post is not meant to take a shot at MJ or Brady. We should pray for them both. Imagine what they could do for the Kingdom of God if they found Jesus!
What athlete has not thought how awesome it would be to be as gifted as Tom Brady or Michael Jordan. We have all thought way less about the challenge it would be to carry the burden of fame that comes with their greatness.
The truth is all Hall of Famers struggle. The Hebrews Hall of Famers are a Top 10 List of Strugglers. What is the difference in this list compared to most list of hall of famers? Their final destination. Each and every one of the members of the Bible’s Hall of Fame are in Heaven today! Each an overcomer by the Lamb!
We are all born cursed and redeemed only by the Cross and the Blood of Jesus!
Either you are in the middle of a struggle or you are headed towards one. We don’t have an option on this earth of whether we get to avoid the deep dark valleys of life. The only choice we have is who you choose to call when you get their! The day you end up on your knees, who will you call?
The world is watching you when you are on the mountain top and even more eyes are on you when you are in the valley. Pull a Jacob today and fight with all you have! All night if you have to. Fight with all the Faith you have!
The greatest victories are won on your knees!
James says it best, take time to read chapter 1 in James today! I find myself on my knees today smack dab in the middle of a struggle. I don’t know what the future holds, but my faith is grounded in the fact that I know who holds the future!
