What are we Promised?

The Bible is a beautiful love letter from Christ Jesus to His Bride. Sadly many self proclaimed Christians rarely if at all take time to read it. Christ Jesus left to prepare a place for us in Heaven with a promise that He will return to take His bride home, until then He left His bride 7700 promises to seek and find! As the bride of Christ, we are to diligently seek out each and every one of these promises.

When dating my wife Sheri in college we returned home in the summer. That distance was so challenging especially back when a cord phone was all we had. One summer, I honestly wrote and mailed Sheri a handwritten love letter every day. I checked the mailbox daily hoping to find a letter from my future bride as well. I remember many times calling Sheri to let her know I found and read a love letter she had sent me. We made so many promises in those letters. This is exactly what Jesus, the Word made flesh, did for His Bride.

God, through His son Jesus, said here are my promises. Every single one of them are Yes! Not one single promise is a no! What is asked of the bride? He ask for us to seek with all our heart to find each and every promise and when we find one of the promises, He wants us to call Him and let Him know we claim that promise with an AMEN!

“For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Is each promise easy to find and claim?

Absolutely not! Why, because there is an adversary that is doing everything he can to keep us from receiving our promises. The enemies main goal is prevent us from the promise of spending eternal life with our Groom.

When God gives you a promise, it is often a promise hidden in enemy occupied territory. Yes, God the Father is releasing to you an inheritance which is occupied by the enemy! However, God sent Jesus so that through our Groom we can conquer and claim every promise! We can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives us strength!

We have been commanded to fight for our promises! The Bible says that those in the Kingdom of God take what they are promised by force… the force of faith. “And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12)

So where is the occupied territory? The battle ground is the mind for the believer.

The way you enter what God has promised is to change the way you think and speak!

The renewed mind is a transformed life.

A transformed life is capable of receiving an inheritance and stewarding it well!

A quick review.

  • A Love Letter Full of Promises.
  • Seek with all our Heart and Claim them by Saying Amen,
  • Fight like it depends on us, while knowing that it depends fully on Jesus.  John 15:5, where Jesus says, “Apart from me you can do nothing.”. It essentially means that without Jesus, a person is incapable of accomplishing anything of spiritual value on their own; all good works and actions stem from an intimate relationship with Christ.
  • We as the bride of Christ have become One with our Savior and thus do not fight alone! Jesus left so He could send us the same power He dominated the enemy with. With the Holy Spirit guiding and empowering us, we can overcome and claim every promise!

Don’t take my word for it. Take it from Jesus himself, “Ask ME and it will be given to you; seek ME and you will find ME; knock and I WILL open the door for you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks ME finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8.

Many of things we ask for would destroy us, not because their wrong prayers, but we don’t yet have the character to steward what He wants to give us. The moment we pray a prayer when dreaming for something, the Lord begins to set up circumstances in our life to equip and train us to inherit the very thing we ask for.

This is why we should always give thanks in the middle of Hard Things. Our Groom is preparing us to be trusted with more. God wants to trust you so he can entrust in you! The more we find ourselves trustworthy in our yielded surrendered lifestyle before Christ, the more He can enTrust to us realms of authority, anointing, power, etc..

When God gives you a promise, He is inviting You to War!  Psalms 144:1 is a Psalm of David, a man after God’s own heart!. “Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my great strength, Who trains my hands for war And my fingers for battle.” God is Inviting and equipping you to obtain territory occupied by the enemy.

There are many who embrace inferior lifestyles who think it is humility, when it is actually unbelief. Faith often looks like arrogance to the unbelieving believer. Often God resist to do things for us, so He can do things through us! Why, so we can grow and do greater things later and so others can see and be encouraged to follow your witness.

From the beginning God made people in His image and He would empower them to rule over what He made, then there would be a co-laboring relationship! God could show up and fix or dominate everything in a heartbeat, that simply is not the design!

The design is for you and me to come into a place of responsibly and maturity in our personal relationship with our Groom and Savior!

Paul tells Timothy take the promises that have been given to you and with them wage war! A prophecy is a promise.

“So Timothy, my son, I am entrusting you with this responsibility, in keeping with the very first prophecies that were spoken over your life, and are now in the process of fulfillment in this great work of ministry, in keeping with the prophecies spoken over you. With this encouragement use your prophecies as weapons as you wage spiritual warfare by faith and with a clean conscience. For there are many who reject these virtues and are now destitute of the true faith,”

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭TPT‬‬

God is saying. Take my promises and use them as weapons because for you to go where I have designed you to go, there is going to be conflict. The enemy is going to bring fear, doubt, try to divide and conquer.

Why did the first generation of God’s people miss out on going into Promised Land. Fear of the Giants! The 2nd generation didn’t even end up battling Giants! Sometimes all you have to do is show up and do all you can do knowing that Jesus will do the rest. Just do the simple little things. I don’t know if I can beat this team, but after you show up and just do what you know you can do, the enemy shrinks and is no longer what you thought he was.

How do you win your battle for your promises? Have Faith in your Groom knowing that He will either destroy the enemy FOR U or Through U!  Both to mature and strengthen U for greater good.

We are to become a people that actually occupy territory, A Promised Land full of 7700 Promises.

So often you are called to do the very thing you fear the most! The Lord is wooing us to what He has designed us for. Calling us to promises that have been left untended or unconquered! They are meant to be fulfilled and He is waiting for our Amen, Obedience, Daring Courage!

Your desire should be so inline and hungry for the heart of Jesus that it drawls you in daily to do His will. Drawing us into the triumph that God has designed us for🔥

Seek and find a promise. Put it in your mouth. Profess it, declare it, proclaim it, and believe in prayer for it! It becomes your guide and map, because the Promised Land does not come to you, You have to go to it! Go after it! 🔥

John the Baptist said it well, “He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands by and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this pleasure and joy of mine is now complete. He must increase [in prominence], but I must decrease. ”

‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭29‬-‭30‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Paul added “Apart from Christ I can do Nothing.” I know what I can do without Him,

I know what I can do with Him! Nothing is Impossible with Jesus! Our role is to surrender everything and seek Him! Seek first the King and All Things are Added!
