Why Settle?
I have often wondered why it is so easy to settle for less than what you are capable of. I know we are all guilty, but can we change?
Settling for bad shots is one of the main reasons a team loses a game. Settling for giving less effort than you are capable of is another ingredient of losers. Selfishness, timidity, and poor communication are three more poor disciplines that lead to your demise.
Never is this more evident than in a persons relationship with Christ Jesus. Yes, a little Jesus, can go a long ways, but why would you settle for a little when Jesus is offering you all that you can even dream or imagine.
The ability to discipline yourself is both a virtue and a Biblical principle that promises to never return void, while the inability to discipline yourself or to allow someone else to discipline you is a self chosen recipe for failure.
The decision to “Choose All of Jesus” holds more power than the cheers of all the lost souls in the world. To allow Jesus to become your Lord and Savior invites peace even in the storm, strength even in the fiercest battle, and confidence even when your situation seems impossible.
To believe all things work for the Good to those who put their trust in the Lord is a discipline that ignites faith. Faith is the evidence of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Without Faith you can’t even please God. In fact, it takes the faith of a child to enter Heaven.
What discipline can you practice today that will help you produce a plentiful harvest? Take that seed and plant it, then begin to discipline yourself to work, serve and pray daily for something you can’t even see yet. Why? Because through faith, work, and discipline God says “All things are Possible”. The cost? Your whole heart!
