This season we have placed our Father’s Name on the back of our warmup shirts. Since our Father is called by many names, such as Jehovah, Elohim, and Yahweh, then why have we chosen “I AM”?
The name ‘I Am’ relating to God appears over 300 times in the Bible, first in the book of Genesis (15:1) and last in Revelation (22:16). As a result, we often rightfully refer to God as ‘The Great I AM’!
This blog post is not about explaining or defending God as ‘The Great I AM’. Our Father needs no explanation nor defense, this blog is about who we are as son’s and daughters of the One and Only True King! I mentioned in an earlier post that when Jesus is referred to as ‘The King of Kings’, it is not referring to other previous or current kings, such as King Edward or King Tut. ‘The King of Kings’ is referring to who we are as heirs of our Father! We are Kings and Priest as sons of The King and The High Priest, which gives us both authority and access to it all!
My goal in this blog is to help you understand as Children of God led by the Spirit of God, who the Word of God says we are.
I AM More than Conqueror – Romans 8:37
I AM Strong – Joel 3:10
I AM More than Enough – 2 Cor. 9:8
I AM Blessed – Deut. 28:6
I AM Fearless – Psalms 27:1
I AM Courageous – Joshua 1:9
This list goes on and an. God knew us in our Mother’s womb and knew the great plans he had for us.
One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 43:1-3. God has both called us and is with us every step of the way. “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. 3 For I AM the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior!
Jesus said in John 20:21, “As the Father has sent Me, I AM sending you.” He is sending us with access to the same Holy Spirit that He was given with the same access, authority, power, and influence.
Our job is to ask, pray, trust, believe, and charge fearlessly into battle as His mighty warhorse named ‘I AM’!
