Hide & Seek – Not just a Kid’s Game
Hide and Seek is a child’s game that we all played as kids, but do you realize the Creator of the Universe takes it to a whole new level? God passionately pursues each and every one of us! He does so as a gentleman waiting patiently. He leaves the ninety-nine to look for the one lost sheep! Luke 15:4
Who doesn’t love to be pursued. God chose you! His love for you is beyond our ability to understand. It is so passionate that the God of the Universe even sent His One and only Son to die on the cross so that He could find You, just so that you could spend eternity with Him in Glory. No greater Love has ever been displayed than what our Father in Heaven showed you through this unimaginable display of Love.
He so desires an intimate relationship with you. There is no more exciting Day or Time in Heaven the Bible says than when a lost person hidden in sin, is found by God. Luke 15:10
Since God is omnipotent, He plays the game a little differently, as He seeks each and every one of us passionately, but he adds “Choice” to the game. We are given the choice whether we want to be found or not. God quietly seeks, pursues, and waits on us. Often we choose to ignore Him and at other times we feel that He is no where to be found, but on the day that we say “Yes God, Find Me!
All of Heaven has a celebration, as the angels rejoice for you making the most important and powerful decision of your life. Your name is written in the Book (Revelations 3:5, Luke 10:20, Daniel 12:1) and at that moment your “it”! You become the seeker!
Your called to start counting the cost (Luke 14:28), counting the lost, and to go into all the world (Mark 16:15) and find those who have not yet heard or chosen to be found by God. In Hide and Seek after counting down to zero, you holler out “Ready or Not Hear I Come”.
This is when a born again Christian’s game of Hide and Seek begins. You have the choice every day of how you Seek the King! The Bible says that if you seek Jesus with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13), then you will find Him. God actually roams the earth looking for a heart completely sold out on seeking Him. (2 Chronicles 16:9)
So it goes like this! Choose, Seek, but who will Chase. Who will Run with All their mind, body and soul in pursuit of His great love. You see the way we find the lost, is by seeking, pursuing, chasing God with all we have. Sacrificing our selfish goals and dying to ourselves daily in exchange for joy, peace, and love that blows our minds! (1 Corinthians 15:31)
After Jesus gave His life to get us in the game, Our Savior went to the Father. Knowing our weakness, The Light of the World sent us Power to help. Someone to guide us. He sent us the Holy Spirit. To seek God without the Holy Spirit is relying only on our strength and ability. (John 14:15-17)
This decision is not for the feckless and faithless as there is also an adversary in this game, a liar and deceiver who places traps and stumbling blocks along our path. (Revelation 21:6-8 from the message, “Then He said, “It’s happened. I’m A to Z. I’m the Beginning and I’m the Conclusion. For Water-of-Life Well I give freely to the thirsty. Conquerors inherit all of this. I’ll be God to them, they’ll be sons and daughters to Me. But for the rest – the feckless and faithless, degenerates and murderers, sex peddlers and sorcerers, idolaters and all liars – for them it’s Lake Fire and Brimstone. Second Death””. Let me define Feckless for you – A person who can’t be trusted, ineffective, irresponsible, futile, weak.
In this game, We will all at some point find ourselves falling on our faces, falling towards a jagged stone, but the beauty of this game is, at that very moment, you find yourself exactly where we are called to be! On our knees before our King calling out for Him to reach down and wrap His loving arms around us and once again fill us with His amazing Love. Read the entire Psalms 91 to get a clear picture!
I will leave you with this advice. Something I have learned during my fifty plus years playing the game! If you seek him in a radical way, you will find him in a radical way.
