O’er and O’er
I first want to apologize for taking a bit of time off in my posting. I try to make sure my post are inspired by the Holy Spirit and I simply felt I was to take a little rest from posting.
I heard the line ‘O’er and O’er’ in a song at church recently and leaned over and asked my wife what O’er and O’er stood for. She said it stood for “Over and Over”. For some reason, those words really stuck with me.
“Over and Over“
I had thought about what “O’er and O’er” could have stood for and here are a few options I came up with.
One More, but that would be more of an “O’re & O’re”!
I Need You More, but that would be more of a “Yo’re & Yo’re”!
I love you Lord, but that would be L’ore & L’ore!
Every Day or Hour. D’our or D’our
Ok, I am stretching a bit, but I loved the fact the it actually means “OVER AND OVER”!
If there is one thing a good athlete understands, it is the concept of repeating something O’er and O’er. Repetition until Perfection is what creates muscle memory, touch, and ultimately a high level of success. Whether it is at the Free Throw Line, or doing a team rotation drill over and over to develop a good half-court defense, the level of success you are striving for often lies on the back of someone willing to put in massive amounts of time and effort doing something over and over.
What you put in over and over, is what you are going to, more times than not, get out!
How thankful are we that God forgives us O’er and O’er? His Mercy is mighty and His Grace is the power that comes with that forgiveness..
I hope you are a little more motivated today to deal with the grind, O’er and O’er, because that grind develops both Champions and Faithful Warriors.
