Feelin Thankful

I woke up this morning with an overwhelming sense of thankfulness. What an amazing God we serve! He provides us with favor and countless blessings. I started thinking about all the things I had to be thankful for and it was simply overwhelming.

I found it impossible to put my Thank You’s in any correct order because I am thankful for everything both good and bad that has happened to me in my life, because they have all helped me become who I am today.

Thankful for my parents who gave up so much working day and night to provide me an opportunity to chase my dreams.

Thankful for the best wife a man could ever dream of. I knew she was the one the day I met her during orientation in 1989 on the campus of John Brown University. Our group was fittingly called “Sun Yellow”. It was that day I met my beautiful wildflower loving angel from the hills of Arkansas. No doubt in my mind God made her perfectly just for me as an answer to so many of my prayers.

Thankful for all my amazing players, parents, friends, fans, and even opponents who have touched and impacted my life with so much love and graciousness.

Thankful for my kids, both my four beautiful God given angels and the thousands of kids God has graced me with the opportunity to coach and serve in camps. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I am now tasting that special grace of grandchildren and grand-dogs.

Thankful for all the wins and losses as both have taught me so much about the value of hard work, serving others, unselfishness, and learning to put all my trust in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He even provided me victory over death! I could have never even dreamed or imagined what God has done in my life. How God has brought me from a child until now is beyond beyond! Yeah I meant to write that!

I may not sing well or be able to play an instrument, but I will never stop giving praise and Glory to my King for all the blessings he has graced me with in my life.

After going All In for Him at 30 years of age, He has shown me His world! Taking me to Africa, Asia, Europe, Central America, Alaska and to all four corners of the United States. He has shown me His oceans, mountaintops, and beaches. I have seen His wonders through palm trees, Redwoods, waterfalls, caves, canyons, plains, and forest. I have seen where His Son was born, raised, walked on water, and died.

I have lived both in small towns and in big cities and realized that everyone is a child of God. Every single person from every tribe and nation matters to the King! Each made uniquely special by a God who loves us all.

He loved each of us so much that He gave each of us the powerful gift of choice. He gave us a love letter explaining how to find Him. It is full of promises that He paid the ultimate price on a cross. Our King fought for us defeating our greatest enemy so that we can share in His great riches. We simply have to choose to follow Him. We have to choose to Love others unconditionally like Him. We just have to ask forgiveness and turn from sin and choose life!

I could go on forever and could never Thank my Jesus enough for all I have to be Thankful for this morning.

What can you do to thank Him? We can all choose to get up and make our way to church this Sunday morning to join others in praising and serving Him with all our hearts, then spend the rest of our week fulfilling his calling of loving the least, last, and the lost just as He did two thousand years ago. We can all diligently seek and serve Him by sharing his love with all we have within us. Introducing Him to a world who is so in need of our Savior!

You can choose to be Thankful.
