Do you only have one move or one pitch?

One move

Have you ever seen a great basketball player with only one move? How about a great pitcher with only one pitch? In order to be the greatest of all-time, the GOAT, then your moves must be many and unpredictable by the defense. If that is the case, then how could you be satisfied with only one mighty move of The Savior? Many are satisfied after they ask the Lord Jesus Christ into their heart. Why is that?

Why would anyone be satisfied with where they are at in their walk with Jesus, if they could have more? If the Bible says “seek and you will find” and “you have not because you ask not”, then why would you settle for where you are at Spiritually in your journey?

All I can do is speak from experience. I accepted Christ when I was very young. I was raised in church at the minimum of three times a week, plus Sunday School, crusades, camps, and much more.  I saw God do some amazing miracles early in my life. At some point though, I had to stop living off my mother’s and wife’s prayers and start walking in my own faith.

How could I be satisfied with just going to church weekly? I even drove the church bus, I felt that should get me some bonus points with Heaven. I was very comfortable with my faith walk and I sadly looking back, I think satan was happy with it as well.

I had a great church and pastor who fed me a good message every Sunday and Wednesday, but I never read my Bible, never fasted, never went on mission trips, rarely prayed outside of briefly at church, and was not operating in any gifts of the Holy Spirit. I had a good reputation as a Christian. Surely that deserved something.  I was not spiritually dead, but I sure seemed to be sleeping a lot. As long as I was headed to Heaven and was a good person sinning less than most, wasn’t that enough?

From my experience, it was not even close!

I just had to be awakened to the fact that there was so much more waiting for me as a follower of Jesus Christ. The great awakening in my life occurred when adversity hit. It woke me up and challenged me to cry out to Jesus. When I called on Jesus name, even though it was in frustration and even with a little anger, Jesus answered! Since that day in 2006, I have never been the same. My eyes and heart were opened to what was available for me as an heir and son of the King.

Ephesians 5:14 says, “Arise, you sleeper! Rise up from your coffin and the Anointed One will shine his light into you!”

Could it be that many Christian’s are sleeping? Chapter 5 begins by asking us to imitate Christ. In order to do so, we must avoid sexual immorality, vulgar language, foolishness, and other inappropriate attitudes. Paul warns that those who persist in these behaviors are not part of the kingdom of God.

I can’t speak for others, but in my opinion, I was sleeping.  Was I luke warm?  I sure wasn’t hot. I just know that what I have experienced since 2006 has been so much more. My hope in this post is that you are encouraged to increase your fire. Seek like you have never sought before.

Let’s go back to great players having more than one move. 2020 has been a crazy year, yet I have witnessed the Spirit of God movement increase since the enemy hit hard in March. One thing I know is that Jesus is the greatest human of all-time. He moved everywhere He went healing all that were sick during His three-year ministry with the Holy Spirit working in Him.

When God pours out His Spirit and He moves, He moves, He does not just make one move. I know on September the 19th the Holy Spirit moved. He is moving in fields and parks and homes and anywhere his disciples will rise up and call on His mighty Name!

That means He is moving and I have seen more and more evidence of this. If you are praying for revival, then I have news for you, Revival is Here. Maybe you just need to ask God to wake you up. Don’t be someone who has not because he asked not. In Jesus day everyone was praying for a Messiah to come and save them, sadly many slept and never woke up to the fact that the Light had come.

Those of you hungry for more. Join me in this prayer.

We feel your power and Spirit moving Lord. Use me Lord. Increase my fire and hunger for more of you. Make us a light that is so full of your Glory that the entire world is drawn to you. We are here to reap Your Harvest oh King. Make us bold and courageous and sensitive to your voice and desires. Amen.
