EVERY PRAISE, EVERY PLAY, IS TO OUR GOD!

Is it just me or is everyone everywhere PRAISING OUR GOD? I have seen videos of championship teams, star players, famous actors, hip hop rappers, and even some churches giving God praise these days. I have seen people on every continent, on small islands, and even some people in church PRAISING OUR GOD.

Yea I just took a shot at all of you in the church every Sunday. This song rocked my world as I watched a South Korean Choir Worship God in such a way that made me wish I could fly to South Korea and join them.

I can’t sing a lick, but I have a personal goal of never ever letting anyone bring their worship with more passion than I bring to my God. Hezekiah Walker tapped into heaven when he wrote this song. I search for songs like these weekly to sing to my King. Don’t you? I can already hear those of you that just dropped the “well how prideful is that!” or was it “worship is not a competition”.

Last time I checked 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth so that He may support those whose heart is completely His.

Does God see you and care about your effort? Hebrews 4:13 says, “And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account.”

As a former college athlete and now college basketball coach, I love competing against the great competitors. I have played many athletes that were more talented athletically, bigger and stronger, but few were willing to work as hard and put their bodies through the physical and mental pain. I love athletes that take pride in playing EVERY PLAY to their absolute best level of effort and HEART. Didn’t 2 Chronicles 16:9 just say God is looking for HEART!

Players who choose when to work hard only when they feel like it are exactly the same as those of you in church who worship with very little effort or passion. The Bible is loaded with verses about lifting your voice in song and your hands in praise and worship. David even danced with all his might to the Lord. God said the Rocks will cry out if we don’t. Paul and Silas sang in prison after being stripped of their clothes, beaten, and sitting in the sewer. Yet I watch students in chapel at school and people in church on Sunday standing or sitting their like they are in prison. The Bible does not say, those of you who are outgoing, bold, or are blessed with the gift of singing or dance, only you take part in worship to me.

Please don’t listen to what I have to say about worship. Research for yourself what the Bible says and let the Holy Spirit deal with you regarding your worship. I used to never raise my hands or sing, because I was too cool and could not sing very well. Those were just poor excuses for me personally. You may be worshiping in some other pleasing way to God such meditating in prayer, kneeling in prayer, or clapping your hands, but simply doing nothing is not worshiping with all you heart. Neither is playing hard only when you feel like it.

EVERY PLAY AND EVERY PRAISE are to OUR GOD!

I have posted this before, but this is what my dream locker room looks like! I have watched that dream come true on numerous occasions.
