It’s Christ In You that Makes the Difference

It was a couple years ago that I wrote a post about “Hillbilly Kobe” Austin Reeves started a trend among youth athletes. After Reeves hit a big shot in the NBA Playoffs, he started beating his chest yelling “I’m Him”.

It sounded like a cool way to tell the world that Reeves was the man. However whether Reeves knew it or not, he was just another sad copycat of the of true I AM. The Great “I AM”, not an I’m Him wanna be. When they came to capture Jesus, he asked the 300 plus soldiers, “Who are you looking for?” They responded in the dark of the night. “Jesus of Nazareth”. Jesus responded once and for all, “I AM HIM”! 

Before last nights game, I heard a message on the power of the secret place. Referring to the 91st Psalms. “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. David is referring to abiding in Christ Jesus. 

1000 years before the death and resurrection of David’s great great great grandson Jesus Christ, David prophesied in Psalms 22, often called the psalm of the Christ, it describes intimate details of a dying and pierced figure.

• Pierced hands and feet: Verse 16 states, “They have pierced my hands and my feet,”mirroring the physical method of Roman crucifixion centuries later.
• Mocking and scorn: Verses 7–8 describe onlookers mocking the sufferer, matching the crowds at Calvary in Matthew 27:43.
• Dividing garments: Verse 18 foretells soldiers casting lots for clothing, fulfilled during the crucifixion in Matthew 27:35.
• Opening words: Jesus quoted the opening line of this psalm (Psalm 22:1) while hanging on the cross (“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). 
• Psalm 16:10 (Resurrection): King David wrote, “For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay”. Apostles Peter and Paul later cited this verse in the Book of Acts (Acts 2:24–32 and Acts 13:35) as a direct prophecy of Jesus Christ rising from the dead before bodily decay set in.
• Psalm 69:21 (Vinegar and Gall): Mentions offering the sufferer gall and vinegar to drink, which New Testament accounts record as being given to Jesus on the cross.

Last year, the University of Oklahoma Football team gave rise to the slogan “Hard to Kill”, as their team showed incredible resilience over the course of the season, 

Before last night’s game, I felt God was showing me that when we become One with Christ, we become HIM! It is only then that you become hard to kill! Actually because you carry resurrection power in you, you become Impossible to kill!

You need some scripture to back that up? 

“Thanks be unto God who always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place” 2 COR 2:14

The primary verse for “I am the righteousness of God in Christ” is 2 Corinthians 5:21. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (NKJV)

• Romans 3:21–22: Explains that the righteousness of God is made known apart from the law and is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
• Romans 8:1: States that because of this standing in Christ, there is now no condemnation for believers.
• Philippians 3:9: Speaks of being found in Christ, having a righteousness that comes from God through faith rather than one’s own efforts. 

One of my favorite hymns “In Christ Alone” was written in 2000–2001 by Irish composer Keith Gettyand British songwriter Stuart Townend. It was the first song they ever wrote together. 

I am the Righteousness of God in Christ!

Jesus was the only King Priest, but because of Jesus, we join a Royal Priesthood!

The Bride of Christ. His Beloved carrying Royal Blood. You are a Priest (Someone close to God)! We gain access and eat the best of the land, by reasoning of his anointing. 

Jesus was the only King Priest. In Him we gain a Kingly anointing. We gain the authority to command sickness to go and in Jesus Name the enemy must flee!

We are 100 fold with Jesus, not 30, 60, or 90. When we go small and become hidden in Christ in the Secret Place, we become HIM! We are called to be image bearers of Jesus. Called to be a City on a Hill, the Light of the World. When we Stand in Christ, He Stands for us! Our Destiny in Christ changes! We are called to do kingdom things, Greater Things!

We are perfect and blameless in Jesus. We are given access to play with a Christlike Confidence, with Unlimited Endurance, and with a Supernatural Strength! 

Jesus paid the great price for this. Through His Blood you can! Don’t devalue being in Christ. He who dwells in Secret Place of the Most High, shall abide in Christ shadow. He becomes our strength and fortress! 

Make no mistake! Jesus is the Answer, the Truth, and the Chosen One!

Abide in Christ and arise with Christ! We have weakness, but it is in that weakness that we become strong! When we decrease, He increases! 

We are Joint Heirs With Christ Jesus!

It is not what you know, or anything you can do on your own. Instead it is what you have in Jesus. It is who you know, and believing that He is In You, so You are in Him!

Being In Christ gives you access to the Promised Land. Jesus is no longer on the Cross. Jesus is at the Right Hand of the Father Interceding for Us! Interceding means stepping in between two or more parties to help, to mediate a dispute, or to plead on someone else’s behalf. That someone else is you! 

As a spirit led coach, my goal is to instill Christ in my players daily! As a result, I believe God the Holy Spirit is going to show up big in my players. When He does, All the glory goes to Jesus! We become impossible to kill when we become Him! When we are in Him!
