My 72 Chevelle
Anyone who has owned an early 70’s Chevelle knows there is nothing normal about one of the toughest muscle cars of all-time.
Tough guy movies like John Wick, Jack Reacher, Fast and Furious, Transformer, Talladega Nights, and Dazed and Confused, all featured one of these bad to the bone beast.
When my pops surprised me with a 72 Chevelle at age 17, I felt like I was given a superpower. Orange with racing stripes, chromed out mags with white interior. Dad found this steal in a buddy’s garage and bought it for $500. We rebuilt the 350-engine dropping a high-end cam in it along with adding dual exhaust that caused it to both lope and purr like a lion on the hunt.
I painted this picture for you to instill exactly what God felt like when He custom made you down to the smallest of detail. The Bible goes to great effort sharing with each of us the touch of the Master’s hand when He designing each of us.
Not only did Father God custom make you, He gave you a detailed Owners Manuel.
Sadly most never read it, but instead listen and believe what others convince you to believe about yourself. Is that owners Manuel, called the Bible, sitting in a place like your glove box never being opened? The enemy wants you to believe you are made of standard parts with no shiny mags, no amp, and no tachometer to reveal the power that God has placed inside you. He wants you to believe you are nothing special with no custom details.
That is a flat out lie, your owners manuel says otherwise, but you wouldn’t know unless you take the time to read it!
If the birds never worry about what they will eat tomorrow, because God loves them and takes care of them, the. how much more does He love and care about you. God designed you as a custom made original masterpiece with a plan in store for you to shine greater than you can even dream of imagine.
In fact, God sent His only son Jesus to die for you. He did so because He longs to spend eternity with His masterpiece. After rising from the grave and returning to the Father’s right hand, Jesus sent back more power in the Holy Spirit than any engine could ever muster. You are so much greater in God’s eyes than you know, far greater than our thoughts for any Chevelle Malibu.
You are a classic custom-made gift of the God of the Universe and don’t you forget it!
