The Quiver of a Coach

Quiver

One of the most powerful and dangerous weapons on this earth is found in the quiver of a coach. Psalm 127:4 says, “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.”

The invention of the arrow completely changed warfare. Prior to the arrow, only throwing stones or spears allowed a warrior to attack an enemy at a distance. The arrow took this advantage to whole new level of effectiveness.

An expert archer that knew how to equip an arrow with direction and power became of great value to their king. In other words, a coach who is capable of providing direction and the power of the Holy Spirit to a player prior to launching him into the world is of tremendous value to THE KING!

Coaches are going to be held accountable for the direction, power, and strength we place into each arrow we have been blessed with in our quiver.

In Old Testament times, how many children you had was a sign of your wealth. That value has actually not changed over the years. Why do you think the enemy fights so hard for abortion of arrows?

If you are rewarded with a handful or an endless supply of arrows from our Heavenly Father and King, then why waist a single arrow! Point them at the enemy and provide them the motivation to change the battle!

Just one arrow placed in the right direction can change everything! Even a stray arrow is dangerous. Just imagine what an army of arrows can do!

When someone had the imagination and vision to light an arrow on fire before launching it at the enemy, warfare changed, then when someone had the imagination and vision to shoot an arrow while riding on horseback, it changed warfare again!

Coaches, if you would understand that the secret to winning the long game is equal to the amount of value you are placing in your arrows, then wouldn’t you spend more time weaponizing every arrow in your quiver?

When Jesus returned to heaven and sent back the Fire of the Holy Spirit for each and every one of us, He fully expected us from that moment forward to light our arrows on Fire before sending them at the enemy.

If anyone understood the Fire of God it was Elijah and Elisha as they called down the Fire of God on the enemy multiple times. I will end this blog with a story about one of them.

Draw weight, or poundage, is a measurement of the force needed to draw a bow. Just before Elisha died, Jehoash king of Israel paid him a visit. You can find the story in 2 Kings 13.

Elisha told Jehoash, “Go and get a bow and some arrows.” The king brought him the bow and arrows. Then he told the king, “Put your hand on the bow.” He put his hand on the bow. Then Elisha put his hand over the hand of the king.Elisha said, “Now open the east window.” He opened it. Then he said, “Shoot!” And he shot. “The arrow of God’s salvation!” exclaimed Elisha. “The arrow of deliverance from Aram! You will do battle against Aram until there’s nothing left of it.”

However, King Jehoash failed to do what Elisha desired him to do with his arrows. “Now pick up the other arrows,” said Elisha. He picked them up. Then he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground.” The king struck the ground three times and then quit. The Holy Man became angry with him: “Why didn’t you hit the ground five or six times? Then you would beat Aram until he was finished. As it is, you’ll defeat him three times only.”

How many coaches are not pounding their arrows at the level God desires? Pound them daily! Pound your players full of the Fire of the Holy Spirit so that when they land where God desires to place them, they explode with power in the enemies camp!
