Whose Your Daddy

The last few days, I have seen numerous meme’s showing Jalen Brunson as the father of other great players like Wemby with the quote “Whose your daddy”. I personally have no problem poking a little fun, but today one of those meme’s hit a nerve.

I have no idea if you believe in generational curses, but I have seen enough and read enough of the good Book to know that your destiny is in your hands. Your life is your choice!

The Bible tells a story about a young king by the name of Josiah. King Josiah (c. 648–609 BC) was the 16th King of Judah. He became king at 8 years old and reigned for 31 years. Son of King Amon and grandson of the wicked King Manasseh. Josiah’s grandfather was arguably the most wicked King Israel ever had. His father Aman kept with those wicked ways leaving Josiah the same choice to make.

2 Chronicles 34:3 says, “He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father and did not turn aside either to the right or to the left. For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young (sixteen), he began to seek after and inquire of the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherim, and the carved and cast images.”

‭‭

Josiah could have allowed his life to follow the cursed chosen path of his grandfather and father, but instead he claimed David as his Father and chose to walk in the path of the Lord. The biblical writers highly praised Josiah, stating that there was no king before or after him who turned to the Lord with all his heart, soul, and strength in the way he did.

“Who’s your daddy” may be just an attempt to poke fun at someone, but the truth is you have a choice in the actual answer.

I know many of you were born into difficult situations and the path that was blazed by your earthly fathers is one of addiction, destruction and heartache, but you have a decision to change all that!

Don’t let the father of lies guide your decisions, Father God sent his son Jesus on a mission to sacrifice his life so that you would be given a choice in your destiny! Accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord and free yourself of any and all curses of the enemy, then become a Josiah!
